On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ), we would like to extend our warmest invitation to the entire scientific community working in the field of Chemistry and other related sciences, both in the public and private spheres, to participate in the XXXIX Biennial of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry, which will take place in Zaragoza, between June 25 and 29, 2023.
There have been many cases on which thematic groups of our Royal Society have chosen Zaragoza or other towns in our autonomous Aragonese community to hold various scientific meetings, but the Biennial of Chemistry has never taken place in the ‘illustrious and immortal’ city of Zaragoza. Despite the outstanding influence of the School of Chemistry of Zaragoza, which has been training distinguished chemists for more than 140 years, our city has never been established itself as a forum for discussion and a place for the transfer of new ideas and discoveries in current Chemistry.
The local organizing committee, in close collaboration with the Scientific Committee and with the different Specialized Groups of our Society, is working to prepare an attractive, balanced, stimulating program, addressing all topics of interest that our society and the productive sector are demanding, to progress and face the great challenges conditioning our daily lives and that identify Chemistry as a guarantor. The list of plenary speakers, we believe, by itself, already justifies your participation in the Zaragoza Chemistry meeting (BQZ2023).
We are convinced that we have an adequate infrastructure to favour an exchange of ideas and experiences that enrich our community and stimulate the establishment of interdisciplinary scientific collaborations, which are increasingly necessary. Zaragoza is a young city, and Chemistry requires the presence of young scientists who further promote the excellent chemical research that is currently being carried out in Spain. We declare our commitment to promote, in every conceivable way, the participation at all levels of the largest possible number of young researchers in the BQZ2023.
Zaragoza is a two-thousand-year-old city, a crossroads and a meeting place for cultures. Zaragoza is an easily accessible enclave, with an environment full of attractions that well justify a getaway to the centre of Aragon: from the Pyrenees to the Maestrazgo, passing through thousands of beautiful corners that, on your way to or from the BQZ2023, will give you unforgettable memories. We encourage you to share your excellent Chemistry in Zaragoza, and to enjoy the welcoming spirit of this noble and open land that is Aragon!
We are waiting for you in Zaragoza!
